I am a Chicago-area artist and educator, working across different media in response to contextual demands. My practice embodies both slow and fast art, and I believe that there are as many different kinds of art as there are moments in time. In my current iteration, I seek joy through a meditative process, joining elements of color and shape into a language of calm. This work grows out of a rejection of the societal trauma engendered by political frenzy and divisive rhetoric and strives toward a symbolism free of signified.

I divide my time between my art and resettling and supporting refugees and asylum seekers on the south side of Chicago
